Each canvas is printed in colour and worked using stranded cotton (included in the kit) in tent stitch or half cross stitch. All of the designs measure 6" x 4".
Pea Story Kit
The prince wants to marry a princess, but can't find a suitable partner. One stormy night a princess seeks shelter in the prince's castle. The prince's mother decides to test whether their guest is really a princess by placing a pea her bed. In the morning the guest tells her hosts that she was kept awake by something hard in the bed. The prince rejoices, only a real princess would have felt a pea through such a quantity of bedding, so they get married and live happily ever after.

Raining Cats and Dogs Kit
In Northern mythology the cat is supposed to have great influence on the weather. Witches that rode upon the storms were said to assume the form of cats and the dog is a signal of wind. Both animals were attendants of Odin, the storm-god. The cat symbolizes the down-pouring of rain, and the dog the strong gusts of wind that accompany a rainstorm; and a rain of "cats and dogs" is a heavy rain with wind.
So sit inside and glance out of the window occasionally on a rainy day and make up this lovely kit.
