cotton candyfloss - learn to knit
You’ll begin a knitting project using luxurious cotton yarns and soft summer colours. The course will cover introduction to different yarns, how to knit and measure a tension square, casting on, garter stitch, stocking stitch, rib, moss stitch and casting off. During the day you will knit a practice piece which could go on and become a scarf if you wish. A pair of needles, yarn and notes are included in the course fee.

sew don’t throw – simple repairs and alterations
Why pay for alterations or throw away perfectly good clothes that need repairs? This one day basic skills workshop will show you hand-sewing skills such as how to sew on a button properly, measure, pin and hem trousers and skirts and generally tackle simple tasks by hand. All materials provided. No previous sewing experience required.

holiday snap - learn creative hand embroidery
Learn the classic skill of hand embroidery. Using a seaside photograph we will show you how to develop a close-up section from it to translate into stitch. beachcombers Jewellery- learn to Crochet
Create beautiful textile jewellery using just yarn and a crochet hook. In this beginner’s workshop, you’ll learn how to use a crochet hook and hold the yarn; create a chain, a slipped stitch, double crochet and extended double crochet. You will make basic flowers in lovely beach inspired colours which can be assembled as a brooch, corsage or hair tie. All materials provided, including a wide selection of yarn, a crochet hook, plus take-home patterns and instructions.

cupcake decoration for the picnic parade
Decorate your own cupcakes for that special beachside picnic (or any other event)! Come along to our half day workshop and learn how to customise delicious cupcakes. Using simple equipment you will learn how to spread and pipe butter cream, roll out and cut marzipan, use paste colours and decorate your cakes with lots of edible accessories. You’ll take home a box of your own creations along with tips and recipes. All materials provided, so just come along and enjoy. Wow, will you be popular when you arrive home!
