Surf the turf with a knitted purse
OK so the theme is summer at the beach but by now the summer sales are drifting away and the Autumn/Winter clothes are arriving in the shops and what’s nicer than starting to knit a purse for evenings out, to match a special outfit or simply to use everyday. You can be as glitzy as you wish with beads and sequins or knit a simple plains purse with pom-poms. There is just enough room for your credit card, mobile and a lippy.… We have displayed a basic purse which can be knitted, sewn up and embellished in the workshop but we will bring along a variety of patterns for you to choose from. Water soluble play day - machine embroidery
If you have some experience of machine embroidery but would like to expand their technique portfolio. We’ll be covering the use of hot and cold water and other soluble fabrics such as iron and tear away, along with embroidering a hole (trust us on this - it’s both possible and good fun!). You will need your sewing machine but materials are included.

Free form crochet
Otherwise known as ‘scrumbling’ (making it up as you go along!). Freeform crochet is like painting, the result can be abstract or realistic and is totally original to you. The outcome is a piece of art which can be functional or just something to look at in either 2D or 3D. Come and be creative – form a piece of art from a ball of wool and a hook. Materials included.

An advanced method of producing fine felt; join us to make this beautiful scarf that takes its design from the natural colours and textures of pebbles and sand at the seashore. Cobweb scarves are unique art pieces that go from dressy to casual all year long. Light enough to wear to the office or dressy enough to wear over a dress for a wedding. Fibres included.

Golden sands - goldwork
An introduction to goldwork techniques, this full day workshop introduces you to the fascinating techniques involved in this traditional hand embroidery method. Methods covered during the day include couching jap, padding shapes, a variety of purls and application of kid. You will be working on a stylized rose pattern. Materials included.
